WHAT TO EXPECT
Overview
Asia offers some of the most compelling growth prospects globally. Supply-chain diversification, evolving trade relationships, and a softer US dollar are set to draw fresh capital into the region. However, domestic demand is subdued despite easing inflation, and the region’s uneven pace of reform emphasises the need for careful country and sector allocation.
In an effort to restore domestic confidence, China is directing its focus towards strategic sectors and boosting consumption. Meanwhile, in Japan, Prime Minister Takaichi is cushioning the blow from weaker exports by deploying fiscal support and introducing corporate governance reforms. India’s long-term demographic advantage bodes well for consumption, but its government must ease trade barriers to attract foreign capital.
Asia’s technology sector is anchoring the region’s investment appeal. Semiconductor producers in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are well-placed to capture secular demand, while China’s DeepSeek progress and push for self-sufficiency are creating pockets of opportunity for AI investors. However, investment officers are cautioning against broad-brush thematic allocation, underscoring the importance of rigorous bottom-up analysis and selectivity across public and private assets.
Hosted by FT Live and PWM, this webinar will convene leading private bankers and family office executives to discuss how best to allocate across Asia’s evolving opportunity set. The panel will explore selective entry points for investors, where innovation is translating into investable themes, and how markets are strengthening their long-term appeal through reform.
Speaker line-up will be released in due course
